Back in 2007, I became a wish visitor for the Make A Wish Foundation.
It’s a charity that grants magical wishes for children, aged between 3 and 17 years, fighting life-threatening conditions. As a wish visitor, it’s my job to go out and meet the children and their families to find out what their wishes are. Occasionally, I get the opportunity to help on the wish day, which is such a privilege. To see the pure joy it brings to the whole family is incredible. Just for one day,2 mile they get to be ‘normal’; to see their son or daughter smile and forget about what they have to deal with on a day to day basis.
It’s a huge honour to be part of the charity.
Charity Madness
Always up for a challenge, over the years I’ve done some mad physical challenges all in the name of charity including:
- An abseil
- Bungee jump
- 26-mile power walk
- 2-mile outdoor swim
- 300-mile bike ride in 24 hours (Newcastle to London)
- 100km walk in 24 hours
By pushing myself to the limit, to date, I’ve raised somewhere in the region of
£4500
