For every online marketer, SEO (search engine optimisation) is a necessary evil.
Why evil?
Mainly because people see it as a mystical and complex monster that only a few understand.
The real fact is that SEO isn’t that hard to master, at least not the on-page stuff. If you’re not a coder, you’ll need help with the techie stuff, but your web developer should be able to assist you with that.
Authoritative content is a big part of your on-page strategy, and it pays to find a great copywriter who understands SEO who will create engaging, on-brand content that’s also SEO optimised. By the way, you do need to find someone who knows what they’re doing rather than a writer who will just stuff your content with keywords.
For the other factors, here’s a fantastic infographic created by the smart people at Search Engine Land.

It’s important to remember that no one single element will guarantee top rankings. In fact, even if you have all of these elements you’re still not guaranteed success, but it will increase your chances of great rankings.
